Master Michael Inoshita, Sah Dan

Master Inoshita began his martial arts training in Venezuela in 1983 at age 12 in Shotokan Karate. In 1985 he began training in Tang Soo Do at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ, under the guidance of Master James Lee, Master Jesse Dunn, and Mr. Joel Greenberg. He attended his first World Championship in 1986 and has not missed one since.

Master Inoshita tested for Cho Dan in 1988 at World Headquarters. In 1989 he opened a school while at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN with another Lawrenceville Karate Black Belt Mr. Bo Cutter, E-Dan. While there he was under the guidance of Master Robert Grisome, Master Robert Willis, and Master David Schmitt under whom he tested for E-dan in 1990. In 1993 Master Inoshita was a proud member of the World Tang Soo Do Delegation to China. Later that year, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona for graduate study, and continued his Tang Do Training under Master Darryl Khalid under whom he tested for Sam Dan in 1993. He opened a club at Family Sport and Fitness in 1996.

While in Phoenix, Master Inoshita married his college sweetheart, Holly - also a WTSDA black belt -- in 1997. He received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1998. Master Inoshita's graduate thesis was on the effect's of Tai Chi and Chi Kung training on the elderly.

Following graduate school, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to begin work as a physical therapist. He and his wife Holly opened their school in Elmhurst in 1998.

At the 2002 World Championships in Orlando, Master Inoshita was promoted to the rank of Sah Dan Master.
